The Meaning of PRASAD

PRASAD has its origins in Sanskrit and can be defined as a gift that carries blessings to the one who gives and the one who receives. For over 30 years, PRASAD has embodied a way of moving through the world hand in hand—knowing we are mutually transformed by the gifts we give and receive.

Holistic. Sustainable. Life-Changing.

PRASAD takes a HOLISTIC approach to creating SUSTAINABLE programming in collaboration with the communities we serve, resulting in LIFE-CHANGING impact across generations.

Why PRASAD

Making a Positive Difference in People’s Lives

At PRASAD, partnership not only means engaging with community members to develop solutions, it also means recipients holding an individual and collective stake in our work together.

In recognition of the inherent dignity of each person, we believe everyone has the potential to improve their quality of life. This is the core driver of long-term sustainability in our work—where the communities we serve foster self-reliance by playing an integral role in the development and maintenance of our programs.

Program beneficiaries take responsibility for their health and well-being by contributing according to their capacity and ability. In our infrastructure projects, we collaborate with local communities to construct solutions across sustainable community development programs, sanitation, and water security initiatives.

The goal of each PRASAD initiative is to ensure well-being and empower people to help themselves, their communities, and their environment. Having this as our central focus means that our programs are helping people now and are creating a better future for generations to come.
