Water for Life

A Gift of Health and Dignity for the Communities of the Tansa Valley

Mission and Objectives

The “Water for Life” program was created to support the water supply and purification projects led by PRASAD Chikitsa in the Tansa Valley, India. Its mission is to provide sustainable access to safe water for thousands of people in rural and tribal communities, improving health, hygiene, and community self-reliance. 100% of the funds raised go directly to implementing systems for water harvesting, filtration, and conservation.

“Water for Life” aims to establish strategic partnerships with companies, institutions, and foundations committed to universal access to water and to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This program seeks to be a bridge between international solidarity and the concrete needs of the territory, facilitating transparent and effective collaboration mechanisms to multiply impact and empower communities.

We offer multiple ways to contribute: from direct donations to specific sponsorships for equipment or treatments. Companies can also involve their employees in corporate volunteering activities, organize fundraising campaigns, or support with products and services that directly benefit program users, allowing companies to engage in the way that best aligns with their capacities and values.

Water is a fundamental human right. Without safe access to drinking water, there is no health, no education, no future. “Water for Life” is more than a solidarity program: it is a bridge between generosity and transformation, between those who want to help and those who need it most.

By collaborating with PRASAD Europe, companies, institutions, and citizens can ensure that every drop of water becomes a source of life, hope, and dignity.

A Real Impact on Access to Drinking Water

Access to drinking water is essential for life, health, and human dignity. In the Tansa Valley, many families must walk kilometers each day to obtain water, often from contaminated sources. This not only endangers their health but also limits their time for studying, working, or caregiving, particularly affecting women and girls.

PRASAD Europe, in collaboration with PRASAD Chikitsa, aims to reverse this situation by:

– Installing simple, effective, and sustainable solutions adapted to the local environment.
– Creating infrastructure that improves community self-sufficiency.
– Implementing awareness campaigns on the responsible and safe use of water.

Program Action Areas

Water Infrastructure:
Development of systems for water collection, storage, and distribution such as wells, hand pumps, rainwater catchment dams, and aquifer recharge techniques.

Filtration Technologies:
Implementation of affordable and sustainable technologies such as biosand filters, candle filters, and purification units for domestic or community use.

Education and Awareness:
Development of educational programs to promote healthy hygiene practices, prevention of waterborne diseases, and a water-conscious culture.

Institutional Collaboration:
Promotion of strategic alliances with local actors, governments, educational centers, foundations, and socially responsible companies.

Expected Impact

– Reduction of waterborne diseases.

– Increased access to drinking water in homes, schools, and community centers.

– Strengthening family autonomy through access to nearby and safe water.

– Support for sustainable agriculture through appropriate water infrastructure.

Fundraising Objective

  • Water filters – 300 families = €4,700 per year.
  • Community Wells – 4 wells = €33,500 per year.
  • Farm wells – 15 wells = €30,500

Assuming 10% inflation per year, the projected three-year budgets for the above activities are:

  • 2026–27 = €68,700
  • 2027–28 = €75,600
  • 2028–29 = €83,150
